IKA UII Yogyakarta Provides Assistance for Flood Survivors in Jakarta

Ikatan Keluarga Alumni Universitas Islam Indonesia (IKA UII) Yogyakarta provided 3,600 staple food packages for flood survivors in Jakarta.

The assistance was symbolically received by Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung, at City Hall, Central Jakarta, Monday (3/10).

"We express our sympathy for the disaster that befell our brothers and sisters in Jakarta, flood disaster and so on," said Ari Yusuf Amir, DPP IKA UII Chairman.

Pramono: Criticism is a Healthy Dose of Medicine

Ari explained that some of 3,600 packages have been distributed to the fire survivors. Then the remaining 500 packages are given to Jakarta Social Agency to be distributed to South and East Jakarta.

"We prepared 3,600 staple food packages. Some of the packages have been distributed to the flood survivors," he explained.

Jakarta Social Agency Head, Premi Lasari thanked and appreciated the assistances given by IKA UII. She ensures that the assistances will be distributed right on target.

"On behalf of the Jakarta Provincial Government, we appreciate the IKA UII for their concern with Jakarta residents who were impacted by flood," Premi stated.

Premi added IKA UII also provided assistances for the public kitchen to cook food for the survivors in Jakarta and Bekasi.

"Hopefully this cooperation can be continued in other sectors," she added.

The provided staple food packages are rice, cooking oil, and ketchup. The packages will be distributed to Kampung Melayu and Bidara Cina Urban Villages in East Jakarta, and Pancoran District in South Jakarta.
